This is almost hard to believe. Mostly becuase of how dangerous it is but also because of how effective the scam looks. They basically cut the grooves deeper into the tire making the fully worn treads appear to stick out of the tire more relative to the depth of the groove. So if you’re buying used tires check the factory wear marks instead of casually looking at tread depth.
