Steve Arpin has announced his return to OMSE2 for a second Red Bull Global Rallycross season. Driving the newly renumbered #00 Royal Purple Ford Fiesta, Arpin will compete in every Red Bull GRC race for the second consecutive season and aims to win this year’s championship.

“I’m really excited to return to Red Bull Global Rallycross this season,” said Arpin. “I learned a lot about what it takes to succeed in GRC last year, and I’m looking forward to applying my newly gained experience and knowledge this year. We are going to go hard for the championship. I can’t wait to get this season started!”

For 2014, Arpin will return to using the #00 that he made famous as a dirt racer across North America. For more than a decade, the famed #00 saw numerous victories and championships, including 35 feature wins in the 2006 and 2007 seasons alone.

Primary sponsor Royal Purple has also renewed their partnership with Arpin after backing him as a Red Bull Global Rallycross newcomer in 2013. Arpin made it to six of nine main events, went onto an eighth place points finish, and rounded out third best of all first-year drivers. His best finish came in the season opener at X Games Brazil, when he finished fourth. He also ranked third in the series’ Fan Favorite Driver of the Year poll.

“I could not be happier about working with Royal Purple for a second consecutive year,” said Arpin. “After getting to know them during our time together last year, it was easy to see why they are such a successful company. Having Royal Purple in Red Bull Global Rallycross generates the perfect recipe for a strong partnership—their high-performance lubricant lends itself seamlessly to our Ford Fiesta while meeting every demand of this sport. Their product speaks for itself, and I am honored to be able to cultivate my career along with this remarkable and emerging company.”

“We are excited to continue our association with Steve in the Red Bull Global Rallycross for 2014,” said Randy Fisher, Royal Purple Marketing Director. “Throughout his first year campaign Steve had shown the ability to outperform on the track, so we look forward to him continuing his growth in the Supercar series and achieving success in the Royal Purple #00.”

Loenbro, a company in the oil and gas construction industry based in Great Falls, MT, will also sponsor Arpin in 2014, renewing a relationship that dates back to his dirt racing days and has carried forth through his stock car racing exploits and to the present day. “We are ecstatic about working with Steve and the GRC this year!” said President Paul Leach. “This is the perfect opportunity for our vastly growing company to create comradeship and spirit within our organization. Red Bull Global Rallycross will be the perfect partner to reinforce team spirit in the culture of Loenbro.”

“Loenbro has been such a fundamental support system in my career since the very beginning,” noted Arpin. “It is absolutely amazing to see how this relationship we built by racing on dirt tracks has progressed these last few years.  Now we are headed to the Caribbean for this year’s season opener! I am so incredibly grateful for their continued support.”

Other partnerships are still being finalized and will be announced shortly. The 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross season opens on May 17-18 as part of Top Gear Festival Barbados and continues with nine races in the United States, including a June 7 appearance at X Games Austin.
