Porsche continues to dominate the sports car/ race scene with announcement of the Club Sport GT4 Cayman. Other manufacturers have track ready versions of their car, but they all fall a little short. Dodge makes the Viper ACR, and Nissan has the Nismo version of the GTR, but almost no one really sells a caged version of their car for racing.
BMW has the M235 VLN spec racecar, but it’s a slower mid-field car. Ford sells a customer Mustang race car thats pretty sweet. But that’s about it. Porsche dominates this space. Their 911 GT3 cup car is standard in customer race cars. Now they’re releasing a caged version of the GT4 for $160,000.
The track-only Cayman GT4 comes with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine, a PDK gearbox, 911 GT3 Cup suspension, racing brakes, and a safety cage.
