OMG! A Lamborghini inspired massaging chair!

Countach! This is the product tie-in I’ve been waiting for!

If you’ve been holding out on picking up the next best thing from Sharper Image, you might just hold out a little longer. The world’s largest manufacturer of massaging chairs, Bodyfriend, is bringing a Lamborghini-inspired chair to the market.

Below is the press release, which has me drooling. I really hope they offer this in colors to match the fancy-color-anodized Brembo calipers available on the Uterus Urus I have ordered. Sadly, I will likely need a friend who has an SUV big enough to fit such a chair into. No, to hell with that. I will buy one of those new Fiat-based Dodge vans, have it wrapped to match the Lambo and chair, and hire a driver to follow me around with my new sedia massaggiante in the back.

Los Angeles, CA, December 8th, 2017 – Bodyfriend, the highest grossing massage chair company in the world, and Automobili Lamborghini, a luxury supercar manufacturer, today announced a four-year partnership deal. The agreement between the health and wellness market leader and the luxury supercar maker will enable Bodyfriend to combine the health benefits that massage chairs offer with the powerful and luxurious spirit and design of one of the most-recognized supercar brands in the world. The new Lamborghini-inspired products will change the landscape of the global massage chair industry.

Following wide-ranging negotiations, Park Sang-Hyun, CEO at Bodyfriend and Automobili Lamborghini’s CEO Stefano Domenicali reached an agreement and signed a four-year licensing contract at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The licensing deal gives Bodyfriend exclusive rights over Lamborghini’s branding on massage chairs until the end of 2021. As a result of the agreement, the first Lamborghini massage chair is expected to be launched by the end of spring 2018.

The partnership will assist Bodyfriend to retain the number one position in the massage chair industry by further expanding the global massage chair market starting with North America and Asia. The appealing design and smart functionalities of the new line of Lamborghini inspired products will enable Bodyfriend to accelerate its mission to educate potential customers about the perks and health benefits of having a massage chair at home. The deal is also another step towards Bodyfriend’s goals of reaching $1 billion in yearly sales by 2021.

“This collaboration with Lamborghini is a new opportunity for both companies. We are very proud to be associated with our new partners in Italy,” said Park. “Collaborating with the team known for creating some of the most iconic designs in the car industry will help us expand the global market and change the perspective of Americans about massage chairs. Great innovation is born where design and functionality work hand in hand without compromise. This is what Lamborghini is for us, and this is what we will implement in our future supercar-inspired massage chair products.”

The new product is expected to start shipping during the second quarter of 2018. Earlier this year Bodyfriend opened two stores in Los Angeles, CA and is planning to open an additional 140 stores throughout the US in the next three years.

Santa, if you are listening, please forget my request for things I need, like race car parts, and bring me one of these instead!

(Okay, I looked at their website, and the chairs do look pretty awesome, but come on! You don’t need a tie-in with Lamborghini to change the landscape of massaging chairs, do you??)
