- Audi just redesigned its R18 and the livery is perfect. Beautiful and menacing. The R18 uses a TDI turbocharged diesel V6 but with a reduced capacity of 3.7 litres. The R18 was also the first time since the 1999 R8C, Audi’s Le Mans prototype uses a closed cockpit design. The R18 is also the first race car from Audi to feature hybrid power.There have been three further evolutions of R18 since the original spec introduced in 2011, the latest is the 2015 spec which is competing in the 2015 World Endurance Championship. I don’t think the 2016 model is considered a redesign, but the livery is spot on.
